Hello!

I'm an undergraduate Cinema & Television Arts student at Elon University with a passion for post-production work. I have a multitude of experience in online content creation and post-production, as well as on-set experience in broadcast news, narrative film (both short and feature-length), sketch comedy, studio production, and music video production. I've worked as a director, director of photography, 1st assistant director, 1st & 2nd assistant camera, sound mixer, grip, editor, colorist, and production assistant on student films and professional films. I have experience working on digital, as well as 16mm film.

I have experience with live event production as well, holding proficiency in many different audio/visual areas, including live sound, video capture, and cable control.

In addition to my media experience, I'm also a computer science minor with experience in JavaScript, Python, Java, HTML, CSS, and Swift. I've completed projects in mobile app development, web development, and computer vision, in addition to various other projects.

I'm a quick learner and someone who puts my whole heart into everything I do, no matter how big or small my role is. It's fascinating to me, being a gear in the machine of a company, doing my part to the peak of my ability and beyond.

My Story

My story's an interesting one. For the majority of my life, I had no idea what I wanted to do. If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, you'd get one of two answers: "I don't know", or whatever my profession my current TV show obsession was about. Then, I started editing. I created a YouTube channel called "ALDC Boulevard", where I made fan edits. I knew nothing about editing, but it seemed fun, so in February of 2019, I got Filmora Wondershare and began editing. Over the next few months, I realized that I really enjoyed editing. My channel began to grow, reaching 1000 subscribers by December of 2019. At that point, I started researching it as a career. I learned that the industry standard was Adobe Premiere Pro, so I got a subscription for that and After Effects for my birthday. Sure, it was a learning curve, but I had finally found a way to unleash my creativity. After messing around with this software for a while, I knew that editing was what I wanted to do with my life. I don't post on that channel anymore, but to this day, I have over 2700 subscribers and almost 900,000 views.

When I got to Elon, I knew I needed to get involved since I knew nothing about production, or editing for film. I joined FreshTV, a training course at Elon for first-semester freshmen, as well as Elon Tonight. Elon Tonight is Elon's sketch comedy show, and I was hired as their Head Editor a month into school, becoming their youngest Head Editor in the show's 12-year run. I got a lot of opportunities from there, building experience in almost every set position. In my two years at Elon, I've worked on over 45 student films in a variety of roles. I learned how to use Davinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, Pro Tools, and Avid Media Composer, as well as applying my skills of Premiere Pro and After Effects to film. I learned how to work cameras (including getting RED trained), sound mixers, a large variety of lighting equipment, and more. I've also taken classes in screenwriting, cinema production, theory, and 3D modeling & animation at Elon.

During freshman year, I worked on a feature film with a local production company, Cornelius Muller Productions, as a production assistant. This was my first professional experience, and I learned so much from working with real professionals in the industry. The summer after my freshman year, I had my first internship. I interned at Attended Events, an event planning and production company based in Raleigh, NC. I worked with their A/V team during live events, but between events, I edited their new demo reel, as well as edited videos captured at these events. This led to my on-campus job, where I set up, run, and strike technology for events on campus. I spent the summer after my sophomore year interning at Button Up Media, a restaurant advertising company based in Miami, FL. I was their editing intern, so I dealt with the post-production work for various clients around the Miami area in short-form content. I created numerous viral videos, each having a dramatic impact on the clients. Following the completion of my internship, I joined the Button Up Media team officially as a part-time video editor.

I just returned from a semester abroad at FAMU, the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, during the first semester of my junior year. We shot a short film on 16mm film, and I was the editor, first AD, and one of the producers of my group’s project. I took classes in screenwriting, storyboarding, camera technologies, international film theory, directing, editing, sound design, and color grading. I also participated in a four-day elective, cinemadance, where we created a short film in those four days, all while dodging different challenges our professors threw at us. I attended a week of technical seminars, where we got hands-on experience with various lighting equipment and got to work with the 16mm cameras.

This summer, I will be participating in Elon in LA, where I’ll be taking two classes, as well as completing an internship with Spaced Visuals.

I'm so excited to continue to grow as a filmmaker, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
